Magic Magnetic Moments

Awesome – this week, 1300 Gosport learners attended the BAE Roadshow at a GFM venue. The GFM STEAM Team, motivated by all things STEM, organised the curriculum enrichment opportunity to support our GFM STEM provision. STEAM matters. It underpins our daily lives, drives economic growth, plays a critical role in addressing major global challenges and helps ensure our readiness for the future, from providing a sustainable supply of food, water and clean energy, to advancing healthcare, supporting our mobility, connecting us digitally and keeping us safe and secure. The roadshow, hosted at Bay House and Brune Park over two days, was attended by GFM Primary and Y7 and Y8 learners, in addition to learners from a local junior school. The production company, MGA, have been working in collaboration with BAE Systems, The Royal Air Force, and The Royal Navy to deliver the engaging theatre roadshow celebrating STEM. The 50-minute performance helped to further inspire and engage our learners with an array of STEM learning. The children learned lots about magnetism, and the show explained the integration of magnets, magnetism and electromagnetism in our everyday life.
