During the month of October, Gomer Junior were involved and invested with Walktober. Our learners were encouraged to walk, school or cycle more often to school. In addition to this, big Team Gomer motivated our learners to focus more on their mental well-being. This has impacted positively on the community. A fantastic 148 schools in Hampshire signed up in total in 2021. That’s a staggering 44,469 pupils and 6,154 staff who got involved. We are all more aware than ever that exercising and spending time outside enjoying your surroundings is great, if not essential, for your wellbeing. That is what the Walktober challenge is all about: walking to improve your wellbeing. The school communities efforts have seen Gomer win the MyJourney Walktober Competition. Go Gomer – congratulations! They have won a day of games based mindfulness which will be delivered by The Mind Runner. Pictured below are our JRSOs and an example of our challenge card.
