Ever wondered how LEGO Education can support your Teaching & Learning? How using open ended briefs (tasks) can enable learners to discover and understand basic STEAM principles through purposeful play (fun!) Certified LEGO Trainer, Stephen Shaw will be delivering a GFM Talk on Purposeful Play & Pedagogy. He will demonstrate the opportunities to expand your teaching & learning resources with some “Hands on, Minds on” approaches. He will explore the links with Engineering Habits of Mind (EHOM) and thinking like an Engineer with a range of activities mapped to the National Curriculum.
The purpose of GFM Talks is to welcome colleagues from across the GFM and our local area to share their practice, experiences and thoughts, within an educational context. The GFM recognises the importance of sharing and values learning from one another to change attitudes, develop our outlook and enable us to best serve our community. Our agenda is to create a safe forum in which we can share, learn and spark debate and/or conversation.
The first talk of the academic year is on Thursday 30 September. The talk will be live streamed from 3:30pm via this link. There is no cost to attend the sessions and we do hope someone from your team can attend.
